金剛鸚鵡 是大型彩色的美洲鸚鵡，分類入鹦鹉科當中的6個屬：金剛鸚鵡屬、琉璃金剛鸚鵡屬、藍金剛鸚鵡屬、Orthopsittaca、Primolius、Diopsittaca。金剛鸚鵡是鸚鵡科中體型及翼展最大的鸚鵡，但不能飛行的鴞鸚鵡則比金剛鸚鵡重。

Macaws eat a variety of foods including seeds, nuts, fruits, palm fruits, leaves, flowers, young shoots, and stems. Safe vegetables include asparagus, beets, bell peppers, broccoli, butternut, carrots, corn on the cob, dandelion greens, collard greens, hot peppers, spinach, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and zucchini. Wild species may forage widely, over 100 km (62 mi) for some of the larger species such as Ara araurana (blue and yellow macaw) and Ara ambigua (great green macaw), in search of seasonally available foods.
